Clearly things aren’t going well in our country. The divide is widening, and in light of the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade, womens’ rights, specifically regarding their bodies, are front and center. Which is why the Small Press Spotlight is looking at FairSquare Comics’ upcoming slice of life graphic novel No Kidding this week.

Written by Vero Cazot (About Betty’s Boob) with art by Marguerite Sauvage, drawing as Madeleine Martin (her secret identity), and translations by Ivanka Hahnenberger, the book “is a journey into the heart, mind and soul of these women opting out of motherhood and how they find their place in a world full of children and laws about their bodies.”

Read details below:

TO BABY OR NOT TO BABY?

Making babies is a big decision. There’s Jean, the one who doesn’t want any kids.

And Lucy, the one who might want them one day. But is their mind set up for real or is it just society torturing them with guilt, playing tricks on them?

This is NO KIDDING: a real book about real women making real choices with big chunks of humor in it!

The BIGGEST SURPRISE of the year in comics!”

No Kidding is set to hit comic shops on September 7 and everywhere else on September 21. Check out the cover and a few pages from the graphic novel below!
