To celebrate its 10-year anniversary, Skybound Entertainment is curating a digital convention for fans worldwide this weekend. The ‘Xpo’ is being hosted July 18-19, 2020 on YouTube, starting from 11am PST on both the days.

Known primarily for The Walking Dead comics, the Robert Kirkman-co-founded Skybound is also known for an online game Superfight. Day One of the Xpo commemorated Superfight with writers Ilze Hugo (The Down Days), Linden Lewis (The First Sister), Simeon Mills (The Obsoletes) and Andrew Pyper (The Residence) over a Zoom conference that ended with a battle between Hillary Clinton in a penguin suit and Terminator carrying a baby!

Camp Bonkers, Super Dinosaur, My Singing Monsters and Snapships

One of the panels, “What Your Kids Can Watch While You Watch The Walking Dead,” revealed the Skybound online store is selling 250 early-release My Singing Monsters: Rare Entbrat figures!

All panelists agreed that these divisions were introduced to make Skybound content more accessible to the next generation fans. Gone are the days of Pokemon Go being the only AR app for kids — say hello to Snapships: Dawn of Battle. Paul Furminger from Snapships calls it a cross between Lego and Transformers born off of small experiments with 3D printers.

The past, present and the future of Skybound with the founders

Kirkman and David Alpert, the brains behind Skybound, shared what it was like to establish this company. Kirkman announced The Walking Dead Deluxe, a newly-colorized issue by issue celebration of the series, releasing two issues per month starting from October this year. Dave McCaig will color the full series, with cover artists to include David Finch, Arthur Adams, and more.
