Dark Horse Comics has provided The Beat with an exclusive preview of pages from She Could Fly: The Lost Pilot #2. The series, part of Dark Horse’s Berger Books imprint, is written by Halt and Catch Fire co-creator Christopher Cantwell and illustrated by Martin Morazzo and Miroslav Mrva.
Here’s how the publisher describes the issue:

Luna’s mental health deteriorates as her obsession with the Flying Woman reignites. Benji searches for his mother Kido while Dana begins to worship at her feet. Bill gets help mounting an escape, and Luna’s doctors become worried . . . plus, she might have a boyfriend now?

The Lost Pilot is the sequel to the original She Could Fly series from 2018. The series follows Luna, a mentally-ill high school student who hears voices and sees things that aren’t there, and her investigation into the death of a mysterious woman with the ability to fly. The first issue of The Lost Pilot was filled with the same level of psychological horror and suspense that Cantwell, Morazzo, and Mrva brought to the previous series, and the cliffhanger at the end of the issue combined with these preview pages sure make it seem like things are about to get even weirder.
Check out the pages, as well as the cover for the forthcoming issue, below. She Could Fly: The Lost Pilot #2 is due in stores next Wednesday, May 8th.

  1. Very late on commenting here, but I’ve only just now read the first series, and it’s pretty good. Particularly by issues three and four.
Didn’t know this new series was out. Damn, missed it, and will have to wait for tpb.
