And now Cleveland has fallen beneath the heel of the Wizard horde’s relentless march! The Cleveland Comic Con Wizard World Convention has been announced for an unknown date, annexing the previous North Coast Comicon, which, based on the website, was last held in 2008.

This brings to 11 the number of pop culture shows being put on by Wizard. How is Virgil going to get to them all???

Gareb Shamus, CEO of Wizard Entertainment, today announces the re-launch of North Coast Comic Con as Cleveland Comic Con Wizard World Convention.

“We admire Roger’s vision for this show and promise to bring Cleveland an event filled with creators, celebrities and so much more,” said Shamus.

Shamus bought the North Coast Comic Con from Roger Priebe who will advise and consult on the show. Priebe will continue to run local events.

“This partnership is a win-win for everyone; the fans, the industry and the locals. I see nothing but good things ahead,” said Priebe.

Wizard’s Comic Con Tour will bring the strong caliber of stars and exhibitors that fans across the nation have come to expect. New dates and venues will be announced soon.

  1. Another Ohio show? They’ve got to go west–and while they’re at it, why not international? I predict the next big announcement will be for Tijuana Comic Con Wizard World Convention in mid-to-late July.

  2. wow! it’s like an ultra-branding buyout or something!!

he’s trying to give the Wizard name some grassroots background, but really, will anyone be fooled? O.o

And, how much are these (assumingly) small, mom-n-pop shows selling out for? Does Shamus intend Wizard be like the Walmart of comic cons?

  3. Clearly he thinks LeBron will show up for this… Maybe if they held one in Akron, which looks like the next illogical move.
