Lego have been making quite the splash at SDCC so far, as you may have seen from some of the various photos people have been taken. There’s a scale version of Hobbiton on-site, along with lifesize models of characters like Batman, Catwoman, and Joker. But Lego have also announced some new sets this weekend – featuring Batman, The Flash, The Hobbit, and Star Wars.

Let’s start off with the new sets – this is what we’ve been waiting for. Lego announced that next year will see the launch of a new Batman set, featuring both the Caped Crusader and The Riddler in a drag-race. They’ll be joined in that race, however, by The Flash – making his first commercial appearance as a minifigure. What I love most about this set? That The Riddler has anticipated The Flash showing up, and packed a banana skin to help him cheat!

Already announced by the company was a Back to the Future set featuring the DeLorean – but now we also know that the set will also come with both Marty and Doc Brown!

A new Hobbit set will be released soon, The Lake Town Chase, based on a scene from the next Hobbit film, Desolation of Smaug. The set comes with a ship, as well as four minifigures.

After the success of their first Minecraft Lego recently, the company will be releasing Minecraft: The Village and Minecraft: The Nether (the latter of which is pictured above).

A new Star Wars set is on the way, featuring the AT-AP. I’ve never heard of this vehicle before, but it features the droids seen first in Phantom Menace – so this looks like it’s going to be some of those prequel vehicles only ever seen in distant CGI. My lazy guess is that it stands for All Terrain Armoured P…od? Attack Pod? Probably not.

This one is from the upcoming Lego film – and more from that below!

Lego have also shown off some of the statues they’ve got up at SDCC, in pre-con photos which let you look at all the details without an Adventure Time hat blocking the view. These are tremendously impressive, and include Superman, Iron Man, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles:

The Lego Movie is also coming soon, featuring Colbie Smulders as Wonder Woman, and Will Arnett voicing Batman. Here are the two main characters of the film, in ”life-size” dimensions:
