Comic-Con International has posted their exclusives , and I’ve been mining the internet, searching for posts and teasers.  Here’re some pics to entice!  What caught your eye?

Gentle Giant

“I find your lack of faith disturbing.”

(Two of the Gentle Giant exclusives.  My all time favorite?  The pink Darth Vader Komen mask, later repurposed for a “Princess Vader” costume.)

Toys R Us

I’m not a brony (not that there’s anything wrong with that).  Yet that is one very exotic figure! (She’s a mentor/witch zebra.)  It might be a bit un-PC (African motifs, glow-in-the-dark hide which appears “white”)  If you wish to do a crossover, she can team-up with Ororo Iqadi T’Challa.

(Last year’s exclusive was a a purple goth raver e-ticket!)

That’s the “stealth” version of a Predator, cast in translucent plastic.  Next to him is the “dollar menu size” figure of Gordon Spurlock.  Perhaps there will be a super size version in 2013?

Two cute heroic couples!

Toys R Us and DC Direct continue with the “Just Us League of Stupid Heroes” series.   Are those oven mitts?

An Adventure Time two-pack of Finn and Fionna!  This might be the first Comic-Con exclusive to feature Comic-Con badges!  (I hope they brought identification.  And that sword will have to be peace-bonded!)  A perfect present for your sweetie (especially if she’s stuck back home while you get your geek on)!

Mattel

Mattel has a large number of exclusives, and was offering presales before June 15!

Box design by Jill Thompson!

(Yes, I want the Orpheus deluxe playset, with Death’s modern realm, and the Greek-filtered interior design variant!  I want a two-foot replica of Desire’s giant statue that she lives in!  I want a Destiny garden statue (in bronze)!  I want Despair’s mirror, an LCD monitor which replays the most depressing scenes from movies!)

Ah yeah!  (Hmm… did Cyborg ever appear in the Tiny Titans comic?)

No snack inside, just the Hot Wheels prize!  (Why isn’t there a Scooby Snacks cereal?)

Deluxe edition KITT 2000, with three phrases!

Polly Pocket!  DC Nation, Mattel, animate these please!  (Last year, it was Supergirl, Wonder Woman, and Batgirl!)

Pretend to visit an alternate reality with this incredible package of seven 3.75” STAR WARS figures — one figure from each film in the Saga, and one figure only available in this collectible set. Each figure is individually carded with packaging that pays tribute to a “lost” line look that Kenner considered before going with their classic black-and-silver look! This Comic-Con special edition pack will be fans’ first chance to get the “lost” packaging, available this fall as variants in the STAR WARS VINTAGE COLLECTION line. In addition, this special collector’s pack will be the only place to get an exclusive treat for fans — a 3.75” carded JAR JAR BINKS in CARBONITE, which will be hidden in the center of the packaging and can be revealed by raising it through the “CARBONITE CHAMBER” top of the case. The other figures included are a standard JAR JAR BINKS (EPISODE I), CLONE TROOPER LIEUTENANT (EPISODE II), SHOCK TROOPER (EPISODE III), SANDTROOPER (EPISODE IV), PRINCESS LEIA (EPISODE V) AND DARTH VADER (EPISODE VI).

(I still want a Jaxxon action figure…   And I know a “Holiday Special” set would create a stampede…  Saun Dann, Ackmena, Chef Gormaanda!)

Action Figure Xpress

You’ve seen Eel O’Brian, a.k.a. Plastic Man, as a tire. You’ve seen him as a briefcase. You might have seen him on television. You might even have seen him as a bathing suit. But have you ever seen him as a Be@rbrick? Medicom, Diamond Comic Distributors, and Action Figure Xpress celebrate San Diego Comic Con 2012 and the launch of the upcoming DC Be@rbrick mini-figure series with the release of the convention exclusive Plastic Man Be@rbrick. The famous stretchy superhero is a limited edition mini-figure that promises to be one of the most sought-after exclusives of the convention. This Be@rbrick comes packaged in its own individual blister pack, with artwork modeled after the classic Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez DC Style Guide designs. Limited to 2,000 pieces, the Plastic Man Be@rbrick will be available at San Diego Comic Con, July 11-15, 2012.

Limited Edition of 2000
Medicom and Diamond Comic Distributors have teamed for a San Diego Comic Con exclusive that no toy collector or comics fan will want to miss — the DC Be@rbrick Batman Mini-Figure! One of the world’s most famous superheroes will strike fear into a cowardly and superstitious lot as a 2″ tall bat-clad bear! This limited edition figure, sure to be a highly-sought-after collectible, comes packaged on its own individual blister pack, with artwork modeled after Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez’s classic DC Style Guide designs.

Pullip Doll Dreams

Batman and Wonder Woman are Con exclusives.  Batgirl and Catwoman can be ordered now!

Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments

Hallmark launches their 2012 ornaments in July, and offers a wide variety of licensed designs!  (176, according to their webstore)

At least seven ornaments will be offered as exclusives:

(Dr. McCoy, Spock and Spock, and the 25th anniversary (sigh) edition of Enterprise 1701-D.)

In addition, there will be a “dark knightish” Batman figure, as well as a two-pack of 4-LOM and Zuckuss, and a Cylon Centurion.  (I wonder what sort of conversation 4-LOM and the Cylon would have?)  These are limited editions.

  1. Couldn’t care less about the Comic-Con documentary or a Morgan Spurlock figure, but that little Joss Whedon figure is adorable.
