At Saturday’s Yaga panel at San Diego Comic-Con, AMC debuted the first official teaser trailer for the upcoming series—and it’s hot.
The Yaga trailer, which you can watch below, depicts Carrie Ann Moss (Katherine) delivering a monologue that describes Yaga, a witch who has her way with men, which can mean many things: “Sometimes she tests him, sometimes she kills him, sometimes she eats him, sometimes she fucks him. But she always has a name.”
Throughout the monologue, fast, hard-hitting clips depict her spicy trysts with Hudson Williams (Henry), along with dark imagery of a dead bird, blood spatter, and more gore. Apashe and Alina Pash’s song “Kyiv” plays in the background.
The panel featured showrunner Kat Sandler alongside actors Clark Backo (Carson) and Noah Reid (Rapp), with a virtual appearance by Williams.
Yaga is based on a play written by Sandler. When asked about the titular character, Sandler explained how important Yaga’s representation is. “There’s power in age,” she stated. When if comes to older women finding themselves becoming invisible as time goes on, Yaga asks, “What if that invisibility can become a weapon?”
Yaga debuts in October on AMC and AMC+.
