San Diego Comic-Con 2026 attendees and those who will be in San Diego but not attending the actual convention are all invited to a free event on Thursday, July 23 exploring the history of the iconic show. The “San Diego Comic-Con Oral History Panel” is free and open to the public, offering insight to how SDCC came to be the behemoth that it is today.

The panel will take place at Bards and Cards at 936 Fifth Ave. from 2-3 p.m. PT and feature speakers who saw SDCC in its infancy and can speak to how it’s grown.

Come find out everything you ever wanted to know about the birth & rise of SDCC … from those who were there and made it happen!
