DC have been pretty active and open to the idea of setting up inter-company crossovers of late: from Batman ’66 meeting The Green Hornet to the students of Gotham Academy going to meet up with the Lumberjanes. This year alone has seen two crossovers between some of IDW and DC’s biggest franchise characters – and this SDCC brought with it the announcement that both Star Trek/Green Lantern and Batman/TMNT will both be returning for new miniseries before the year is through.

The recent miniseries Star Trek/Green Lantern: The Spectrum War saw Hal Jordan meet up with the crew of the Enterprise, as helmed by Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto’s iteration of the characters. The miniseries proved such a success that we’ll see a return meeting between the Green Lantern Corps and Enterprise crew in Winter 2016, which will be written by Mike Johnson and illustrated by Angel Hernandez. This time round, things are going to be bigger – more characters, more villains, a widening of the scope. Also? Guy Gardner getting really mardy about how handsome Captain Kirk is, if the cover is anything to go by.

But although we saw Batman meet the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles earlier this year, a new crossover from Matthew K. Manning and artist Jon Sommariva is going to return the concept with a huge twist: this time round it’ll be the characters from the current TMNT animated series…. meeting the Batman from the classic Batman: The Animated Series. Ohboy. That one is planned for November.
