As if William Shatner writing a comic wasn’t enough, today Joss Whedon announced that he’d be producing a new comic for Dark Horse comics. The six-issue miniseries, entitled Twist, is his answer to the self-imposed question: “why isn’t there a Victorian, female Batman?”
According to Whedon during an interview with EW, Twist is “a Victorian thriller about a meek chambermaid who is fed to a dark horror — but instead of dying, she returns, with knowledge, power, and rage she can neither deny nor control.” Julian Totino Tedesco drew the promotional art pictured above, but he isn’t signed to do the series interiors. Blambot’s Nate Piekos created the series logo.
Because the world doesn’t have enough Batmans–and Batman knockoffs–already.
The description AFTER the pic actually sounds interesting. Got spoiled by the Batman comparison.
What a feeble premise.
