Hard to believe, but Mike Golden is a San Diego first timer!

Renowned comics creator Michael Golden will be making a rare West Coast appearance in what will be his first ever foray into the madness that we know and love as The San Diego Comic Con.

Yeah…We’ve warned him–he just has no idea what’s in store!

To help mark the event in a grand way, TwoMorrows has announced that they will be debuting their much anticipated trade on Golden at the SDCC as well. “Modern Masters: Michael Golden” written by Eric Nolen-Weathington, is a comprehensive trade on Michael, featuring rare art and an interview with the creator, chronicling his experiences in the comic book biz and otherwise.

In addition, TwoMorrows will also be promoting their upcoming DVD on the formerly “reclusive one,” entitled “Modern Masters in the Studio with Michael Golden,” which will be released later this year, tentatively at the Baltimore Comic Con.

Known for his detailed, influential work on “The ‘Nam,” “Micronauts,” “G.I. Joe,” “Dr. Strange, ” “Batman” and “Nightwing” among much more, as well as being the co-creator of Rogue from the “X-Men.” Golden’s work can currently be seen on covers for “Iron Man,” “Hero for Hire,” and “Classic Battlestar Gallactica.” In addition to the Modern Masters projects, this year will also mark the release of “Excess: The Art of Michael Golden” from Vanguard and the second printing of “Manga Bucky O’Hare.”

Golden will be on hand at SDCC to sign copies of the new TwoMorrows Modern Masters book on Thursday from 1-2 at their booth.

For the remainder of the show, he will also be signing them at his own booth at Naked Fat Rave (Tables 4601,4603,4700 and 4703), joining the ranks of such stellar professionals as Amanda Conner, Bruce Timm, Tim Sale, Art Adams, Gene Ha, Matt Wagner, Joyce Chin, Phil Noto, J. Scott Campbell, Renee Witterstaetter, JH and Wendy Williams, and other fantastic colleagues, making NFR a true destination.
