Titan has made some pretty earth-shattering moves in finally announcing a long-awaited comic, an oversized issue of RUNESCAPE: UNTOLD TALES OF THE GOD WARS #1. Based on the popular MMORPG that started in 2001, this 4-issue limited series will be written by Ryan O’Sullivan (Void Trip) with art by Sid Kotian (Gambit, The Adventures of Apocalypse Al) and Daniel Bayliss (RuneScape FCBD) as part of Titan’s relationship with the game’s developer Jagex.

Set in the medieval fantasy realm of Gielinor, both RuneScape and the retro-styled Old School RuneScape take players on an open-ended adventure in a vast ever-evolving world brimming with diverse races, guilds, and ancient gods, challenging them to take on varied quests and a host of unique monsters.”
Each physical edition of the comic purchased will also include a special game code for 200 Runecoins. The physical launch will also host a series of variant covers for sale by creators such as Alan Quah, Ivan Shavrin, Sid Kotian, Alex Moore, and RuneScape’s lead concept artist Dave Barker, which you can check out below.
The storyline for Untold Tales of the God Wars will focus on the undead Maro, a creature who dreams of breaking free of a necromancer’s clutches and is now caught in the middle of a war. It’ll expand upon the game’s original God Wars dungeon quest line, where four warring armies battle for control of the Godsword, the only weapon capable of killing a God.
RUNESCAPE: UNTOLD TALES OF THE GOD WARS originally began in 2023 as a Free Comic Book Day edition comic. After several delays, the comic will finally launch this October and will be available to order from the August 2024 edition of Diamond PREVIEWS, and Forbidden Planet for UK & Europe.
