Cartoonist Geneviève Castree lost her battle with cancer yesterday. She was 35 and leaves behind a husband and a young daughter. Battling Stage 4 pancreatic cancer, the community had rallied to raise money to pay for her treatment; I’m sure it’s as badly needed now as it was then.
Castree was best known for her work published by D&Q, including Susceptible, and music she recorded as Woelv and Ô Paon. She was an enormous talent. Eff cancer.
She was an amazing and unique cartoonist. Always a bright spot in some of the best anthologies.
