With HBO’s Watchmen finally premiering next month, HBO will be revealing more details about the show and its cast of characters in the coming weeks. Some recent featurettes and trailers have shed some light on the nature of the story, which has been mysterious up to this point, as well as the new characters that showrunner Damon Lindelof will be introducing. One of which is Sister Night, played by actor Regina King.
Based on our analysis of the recently-released trailer, Sister Night is allied with Police Chief Judd Crawford, played by Don Johnson. Their relationship seems to reflect the political climate of the show, in that the law has embraced vigilantes in masks now that a Rorschach-inspired terrorist organisation has risen. Sister Night’s civilian identity is Angela Abar, who seems to be an actual law enforcement agent of some kind.
