In Red Sonja Vol. 5 #8, Hyrkania is burning from the flames allowed by its current ruler, Sonja the Red. Over in The Clearing Lord Oak will hear her call for alliance with the woodland tribes, but the trust between the two sides will not come easily.
Entitled “The Woodlands,” the latest story arc continues with Eisner-nominated writer Mark Russell (Wonder Twins, The Lone Ranger) and artist Bob Q (James Bond Origin, The Lone Ranger) leading the charge. The pair has worked together previously on a successful Lone Ranger run as well as the oversized one-shot Red Sonja: Lord of Fools. Bob Q will continue as the main artist until Mirko Colak’s (Conan) return with issue #10.
For this issue, fans can expect exciting covers from Amanda Conner, Joseph Michael Linsner, Khoi Pham, and Katie O’Meara. There is also a cosplay variant, a Bob Q “Seduction Cover,” and black and white and virgin versions.
