Batman #86 will mark the start of a new run on DC’s biggest title, this one penned by James Tynion IV and drawn by Tony S. Daniel, with inks by Danny Miki and colors by Tomeu Morey. Now, DC Comics has released the first interior artwork from the book, which is due out in January.
The publisher is also billing this as the start of a new Batman status quo. So then, what do we see in the pages? Brooding. Rain. Rooftops. Swinging from rooftops. Well, even with a new writer and a new status quo, somethings always stay the same.
In addition to the black-and-white preview art from Batman #86, DC has also shared a tease of Tynion’s 3-page preview, which will appear at the end of Batman #85, the final issue of Tom King’s run, which is set to conclude on December 18. That art, which you’ll be able to identify below because it’s the page with colors that is not also a cover, and it is the work of Guillem March and Morey, with letters by Clayton Cowles.
