Pennyworth along with its network Epix will be transforming San Diego’s historic Gaslamp District into 1960s London ahead of the show’s July 28th premiere. Fans attending Comic-Con International this year will get an immersive experience designed to resemble the dark, dangerous underworld of the new series. The Pennyworth Experience will be held inside the Oxford Social Club at the Pendry San Diego Hotel at 435 Fifth Ave on July 18 from 11 am to 5 pm as well as July 19 and 20 from 10 am to 7 pm.

The experience starts off with a challenge. You must figure out the password to get to the Velvet Rope, a high-society London lounge filled with gambling, drag and cabaret performances, and live music. The code also leads to the library where a creepy poetry reading is occurring in the hidden headquarters of the Raven Society. Finally, guests will arrive at the secret society’s dungeon where things get even darker.

The latest entry in the Batman TV-verse follows Bruce Wayne’s trustworthy butler Alfred (played by Jack Bannon) in his younger days, with the character fresh from his stint as a British SAS soldier. Set in the Swinging London era of the 1960s, the ten-episode drama focuses on Alfred’s new security company and his first client—Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge).

In addition to the Pennyworth Experience, Warner Bros. Television Group will host a world premiere screening of the pilot on July 17 in Ballroom 20 of Comic-Con International. A special Pennyworth video presentation and Q&A preview panel will be held on July 19 at 4:30 pm in Room 6BCF.
