In a surprise announcement at the New York Comic Con main stage on Thursday evening, Big Mouth co-creator and star Nick Kroll revealed that the Netflix original animated series, the third season of which drops October 4th, will spin-off into an additional series, Human Resources, after season five.
Big Mouth season two introduced viewers to the unofficially named “hormone world” occupied by “hormone monsters:” strange, filthy-mouthed creatures who act as mentors of sorts to adolescents during puberty. It appears that Human Resources will explore this realm further in what Kroll called a “workplace comedy.”
The announcement was received with surprised applause at the tail-end of the Big Mouth season three panel that featured various other voices, writers, and creators of the series, but few other details were provided.
Check out the Human Resources teaser trailer below and look out for a more thorough recap of the panel later this weekend! Big Mouth season three hits Netflix on Friday.
