Fresh from the cancellation of the Outcast TV series by Cinemax after two seasons, Robert Kirkman announced as part of a panel today that the comic book will also be coming to a close next year.
Outcast, pencilled by Paul Azaceta and published through Kirkman’s Skybound imprint at Image Comics, has been running for four years to this point. A supernatural horror which focuses on demonic possession and exorcism, the series will hit its final arc with issue #37 this December, running a twelve-issue finale which will conclude, maths-fans, with issue #48. Speaking on the announcement, Kirkman said:
We’ve been building to what’s coming since the very first issue and it’s great to finally be at the point where we can tell this final epic storyline! Working with Paul has been an absolute thrill and I’m extremely proud of what we’ve done together over what will be a five year journey.
