The relaunched Amazing Spider-Man title from writer Zeb Wells and artist John Romita Jr. debuts next week and begins a much-hyped new era for the wallcrawler. Indeed, big things are coming Spidey’s way this year in time for the character’s 60th anniversary including a new take on the Sinister Six with the book’s 900th issue celebration. It appears that’s only the tip of the iceberg as today Marvel revealed that Wells and JRJR along with Scott Hanna and colorist Marcio Menyz will continue to amp up the action with the return of perennial foe Norman Osborn in Amazing Spider-Man #7 this July.

When last we saw Norman Osborn, he was seemingly cleansed of his villainous ways and vowed to find a new lease on life. But as the saying goes, old habits die hard and if the goblin cufflinks in the Amazing Spider-Man #7 cover above are any indication, Osborn hasn’t quite given up the Goblin quite yet.

However, it looks like Spidey won’t be completely unprepared this time around as he’ll be sporting not only a new suit but also taking a cue from Osborn’s Goblin playbook with his own Spidey themed bombs glider as we can see from the Amazing Spider-Man #8 cover below.

It’s worth noting though, this isn’t the first time that Spider-Man has brandished his own Spider-Glider, perhaps most notably during writer Dan Slott‘s run on the title. This new “Oscorp Spider-Man Suit” designed by artist Patrick Gleason includes some new features and gadgets including a digital mask to conceal his identity and even an egg bomb belt. Though let’s be honest and call it what it really is—a fanny pack!
