The voice cast for Universal Kids’ Where’s Waldo? original series from DreamWorks Animation has been announced with Andi Mack star Joshua Rush leading as Waldo. The rest of the cast includes Haley Tju (Big Hero 6: The Series) as Wenda, Eva Carlton as Odlulu and Thomas Lennon (Santa Clarita Diet) as Wizard Whitebeard.
The new animated show will also feature prominent guest stars such as Carlos Alazraqui, Rachel Dratch, Kerry Kenny, Tom Kenny, Bobby Moynihan, Oscar Nunez, Jerry O’Connell, Hannah Simone, Retta, and Weird Al Yankovic. The latest incarnation of the elusive beanie-wearing title character will be produced by FM De Marco and John Tellegen, the producers behind Spy Kids: Mission Critical.
Where’s Waldo? focuses on 12-year-old Waldo and his best friend Wenda, members of the Worldwide Wanderer Society, a group of curious travelers who circle the globe celebrating cultures while using their observation skills to  solve problems. The pair’s mentor, Wizard Whitebeard, sets the youngster on international missions so that one day they too will become wizard-level wanderers. Unfortunately, their rival Odlulu can’t seem to stop starting trouble wherever they go.
Created by Martin Handford and known as “Wally” in his home country of England, the character was first published in 1987 as a weekly Sunday comic strip. It has since been published in more than 38 countries and translated into more than 30 different languages. The Where’s Waldo? phenomenon sparked a series of activity books in the 1990s along with an animated television show for CBS Kids in 1991. It was later re-aired by Nickelodeon with a few more films going straight to video. There was even talk of a live-action film.
The new animated series is set for July, but fans can check out a teaser during the season finale of American Ninja Warrior Junior on April 27.
