In an article on Deadline it was revealed that the Netflix adaptation of Sweet Tooth, based on the Vertigo comic by Jeff Lemire, has been renewed for a second season.

Sweet Tooth

The first season of Sweet Tooth was released on June 4th, 2021. According to Deadline, it subsequently pulled in 60 million viewers in its first four weeks of streaming, securing its sophomore season.

In an interview with Christian Convery (Gus) and Nonso Anozie (Big Man), The Beat found out they used real syrup on the set of the first season… We have to wonder if they will continue that tradition in the second season! At any rate, we have plenty of questions about what will happen to both leads

Viewers of the first season will also have plenty of additional questions to be answered in the second season, including those concerning the fate of supporting cast members like Aimee Eden (Dania Ramirez) and Bear (Stefania LaVie Owen).

Second Season Coming Soon

According to the Deadline article, Jim Mickle will be returning as showrunner. If you’re interested, you can see The Beat’s interview with Mickle, Beth Schwartz, and Lemire at this link.

The series will continue to be produced by Team Downey and Warner Bros. Television, with Susan Downey, Robert Downey Jr., and Amanda Burrell as executive producers, with Team Downey’s Evan Moore as producer and Oanh Ly as co-producer.

Were you one of the 60 million people who streamed the first season of Sweet Tooth in June 2021? Are you looking forward to the sophomore season of the show? Will James Brolin be returning as the narrator (we hope)? The Beat is waiting to hear from you! Give us a shout-out, either on this page in the comment section or over on social media @comicsbeat.
