It’s time for UA’s class 1-A to strike out on their own in the latest My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising dub trailer. In this first dubbed trailer, we finally get an idea of what to expect from the anime’s second feature film.

For fans who’ve been paying attention, a little info has already been revealed about Nine. Here, he gets a chance to monologue about his plans to create a new hero society based solely on power. If that rings a bell, you’re probably onto something, given that Funimation’s official synopsis describes Nine as having a power that’s “eerily familiar.”

Regardless, it’s up to Class 1-A to stop him. Good old Eraserhead tells the kids that their next assignment is to head to Nabu Island where they’ll complete hero work on their own, with no backup from teachers or heroes (woah). Based on the Heroes Rising dub trailer, it looks like that means all of our faves will get some much needed time in the limelight following a Deku-heavy arc. When Nine and his lackies attack the island, it’s up to the whole class to stop the villains and save the citizens.

My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising is directed by Kenji Nagasaki with a script from Yousuke Kuroda, music by Yuki Hayashi, character designs by Yoshihiko Umakoshi and of course, an original idea from creator Kohei Horikoshi. Speaking of whom, he also teased that the premise for this film was first intended as a finale to the series. It’s hard to tell exactly what that is based on the Heroes Rising dub trailer, but it only makes sense to pull back in on the core cast (and feature a dope team up between Deku and Bakugo).

More details like character bios for all the new baddies are available over on Funimation’s website. I for one would heartily recommend getting a look at the cigar-chomping Chimera, whose quirk lets him look like a Very Cool Wolf Man.

My Hero Academia smashes back into theaters on February 26 and you can check out the Heroes Rising dub trailer for yourself below. To find a a participating theater, just head over to the Funimation link above – and be sure to check back here for a review!
