Writer Marjorie Liu and artist Sana Takeda are teaming up for a brand new adult horror graphic novel series: Night Eaters.
The duo already won awards (including Hugos, Eisners, Harveys and British Fantasy awards) and hit bestseller lists with their classic SF series Monstress, so this is a huge deal – so big that the first volume, THE NIGHT EATERS: SHE EATS THE NIGHT, is getting a 100,000 copy first printing from Abrams ComicArts.
The story involves Chinese American twins, Milly and Billy, who are struggling to keep their restaurant afloat. Their supportive parents, Ipo and Keon, visit from Hong Kong, and begin to wonder if the twins can really stand on their own. But shocks and surprises await when Ipo makes the twins help clean up the house next door—a hellish and run-down ruin that was the scene of a grisly murder. A night of terror, gore, and supernatural mayhem reveals that there is much more to Ipo and her children than meets the eye.
