MAD EVents is one of the smaller con companies but they put on a line-up of quality shows, including Long Beach Comic Con, Long Beach Comic Expo, New Jersey Comic Expo and C3: Comic Creator Conference.I’ve done the first two of C3, including the one in Havana, an amazing experience.

The Next C3 takes place in September at the Long Beach Comic Con, and MAD has added three people to their new program development team, including Ivan Cohen, Geoff Boucher and Katie Zandonella. It’s a team with a wide portfolio and they should be able to put together some interesting stuff. I’m most familiar with Cohen, a familiar face on the NY comics scene, and Boucher who has kept a low profile in recent years but it’s great to have him back.  He’s also a major event whiz so I’ll be keen to see what this trio  comes up with. More in the PR.

“For some time, we’ve been investigating ways to improve and enhance the programming in our portfolio of comic cons,” said Martha Donato, President & Founder of MAD Event Management. “We couldn’t be more excited to announce that the team of Geoff Boucher, former LA Times/Hero Complex contributor, Ivan Cohen, former DC Comics editor, and Katie Zandonella, Marketing, Social Media, and Public Relations Professional and long time collaborator with MAD Events, have joined us to do just that.”

“Long Beach Comic Con has a well-deserved reputation for bringing together some of the most interesting guests, most compelling panels, and most enthusiastic fans in comics and pop culture, and this year’s programming takes us to the next level,” said Ivan Cohen. “From kids comics to cosplay to TV and movies, this year’s Long Beach Comic Con has plenty to offer any fan. I can’t wait for our attendees to see what we’ve cooked up for them this September!”

“The opportunity to work full-time with MAD is a dream come true! “ remarked Katie Zandonella. “I grew up working on large-scale pop culture conventions with Martha (Donato) and am thrilled to now be an official member of such a wonderful team.”

“I’m excited to be part of a great team and a great event. As a Long Beach resident of almost 25 years It’s especially meaningful for me to help my hometown reach new heroic heights within the Comic-Con culture that I know so well and love so much,” said Geoff Boucher.

MAD Event Management has produced nine years of successful shows on the west coast, and multiple events on the eastern. They also offer expert consulting services and produce C3: Comic Creator Conference, which Cohen will also produce for MAD. He can be reached at [email protected].
