The end of this month sees the release of Korgi: End of Seasons, the final installment of the beloved fantasy graphic novel series by Christian Slade. Ahead of the book’s release, The Beat is proud to share an exclusive preview of three never-before-seen pages from the concluding installment of the series.

Here’s how publisher IDW describes Korgi: End of Seasons:

Winter has arrived in Korgi Hollow… and with it, the end of the Korgi story. As Ivy and her Korgi pup, Sprout, frolic in the frozen weather, an ancient power is stirring. At long last, saddle up for the conclusion of this “silent” epic fairytale told entirely through detailed pen-and-ink drawings. Fire and ice will collide in a timeless battle between good and evil. Will the residents of Korgi Hollow survive the harsh cold? One thing is for sure: nothing will ever be the same.

The first Korgi graphic novel, Sprouting Wings, was published back in 2007. The series has followed a young Mollie, Ivy, and her canine companion, Sprout, on a series of adventures both in and out of their home, the Korgi Hollow. The Korgi series has previously release four volumes in total, with the most recent, The Problem with Potions, having been published in October of 2016.

The long wait between books is sure to be worth it based on the intricacy of Slade’s artwork on the previous books of the series. Without the luxury of text to convey information, Slade relies exclusively on his ability to tell the story visually. If you’re at all skeptical about how well that works, just look at the preview pages for a pretty good indication of the level of skill with which Slade creates these books.j
