Writer Joshua Williamson and artist Simone Di Meo are launching a new Batman & Robin book in September, and DC has shared some of the art.
I wasn’t at the announcement, but the press release DC sent ahead of it described the book as so, “After Batman vs. Robin and Lazarus Planet, Bruce and Damian Wayne are back together again, investigating mysterious new cases and monsters in Gotham in Batman and Robin! Launching this September, Batman and Robin is from writer Joshua Williamson and artist Simone Di Meo, and fans got a first look at the first issue’s cover, interior artwork, and designs for a Robin Mobile, all crafted by Di Meo.”
And here is that art, which includes the unveiling of Damian Wayne’s Robin Mobile…
This new book was unveiled at MegaCon today in Orlando, and it is part of DC Comics’ year-long slow rollout of new titles, the Dawn of DC, which has been on tour as of late, also making an appearance at the recently-held WonderCon in Anaheim.
In addition to the announcement of the Gotham-set comic, DC also showed off new art from the upcoming Flash #800 (due out June 6), pages from Superman #3 (due out May 9), pages from Justice Society of America #4, and pages from Batman: The Brave and the Bold, a new series of which is launching on May 16.
I have spent a chunk of my Friday afternoon downloading these images to my computer and then reuploading them to The Beat’s wordpress, so that you — my fellow DC Comics monthly sickos — can enjoy them. So do me a favor and enjoy!
The Flash pages are by Scott Kolins, the Superman pages are by Jamaal Campbell, the Justice Society pages are by Mikel Janin, and The Brave and The Bold pages are by Mitch Gerads.
