Remember back when Heath Ledger’s Joker casting was wildly mocked, and then the first screen-test popped up and some viewers fears were assuaged? Well…it didn’t silence all the critics, that took the first trailer actually…but here we go again, maybe?
With Joaquin Phoenix’s set to play an 80’s version of the iconic villain in Joker, and last week’s released photo of the character sans-makeup, it was time for the studio to step up with a little more info. They released the following behind the scenes clip:

A very Gacy-like approach I guess, though he sorta reminds me of Bill Murray in Quick Change. Joker, directed by Todd Phillips, hits theaters October 2019 and is deep in production now. It also stars Robert DeNiro, Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, and Marc Maron, and is said to be very influenced by the King of Comedy…though surely with more Batman-related stuff and things.
It’ll be the first release of the new “Elseworlds” line of movies that DC Films is aiming to release on a regular basis.
I still think this is an elaborate prank and there is no actual movie.
Frances Conroy? However great they might be, the Conroy every Batman-related movie needs is Kevin Conroy!
i will try to stop laughing.
Who knows if this is the final makeup we’ll see in the movie, or just a test. Or a stunt to throw fans off the trail.
