It’s Jeff, the Infinity Comic starring the irresistible Jeff the Landshark by Kelly Thompson and Gurihiru, has returned! The first three episodes of the new batch of scrolling comics was released on Marvel Unlimited today, Friday, September 9th 2022: “Cone of Doom,” “Fire-Eater,” and “The Jeff-Verse.”

Jeff 3-D

Jeff originally appeared in West Coast Avengers (2019) #7 by Thompson, Daniele Di Nicuolo, Tríona Tree Farrell, and Joe Caramagna. The diminutive landshark was created by M.O.D.O.K., during a plotline that saw him disguised as B.R.O.D.O.K. Rather than trying to explain further, it’s probably faster if you just read WCA (2019) #1 by Thompson, Stefano Caselli, Farrell, and Caramagna to learn more.

While B.R.O.D.O.K.’s other landsharks caused lots of problems for Santa Monica, the lovable Jeff was cut from a different cloth. Gwen Poole adopted him, and he became her longtime pet (although he has occasionally visited with Deadpool, for cancellation-avoidance purposes).

Jeff

The It’s Jeff Infinity Comic made its debut on Marvel Unlimited with two episodes on September 2nd, 2021. After an initial run of twelve episodes, it concluded with a Thanksgiving-themed story on November 25th, 2021. A second batch of episodes was promptly announced, and now in September 2022, Jeff has finally returned.

Now on Marvel Unlimited

It's Jeff #14

As always, the series art by Gurihiru is both adorable and filled with plenty of Marvel Comics Easter eggs (with a special emphasis on Gwenpool, whose first run was characterized by the duo’s inimitable art). And as expected, Thompson’s scripts continue to land the landshark in laugh-out-loud situations, even without the inclusion of dialogue.

Have you had a chance to check out It’s Jeff #13 – 15 yet? What did you think about the return of the adorable landshark? What Marvel Comics characters do you hope he encounters next?
