During NYCC’s virtual event in October, the first details including a trailer for the upcoming Invincible animated series based on the comic book from writer Robert Kirkman were revealed. In honor of Invincible‘s 18th Anniversary Kirkman joined host Hector Navarro for a special #InvincibleFriday livestream event where they not only released the first clip from the series but announced the official release date.

Besides featuring the main character Mark (voiced by Steven Yeun) and Omni-Man (voiced by J.K. Simmons), we also get a brief glimpse of the character Art Rosebaum voiced by Mark Hamill who designs the costumes for the superheroes akin to Edna Mode from The Incredibles.

If the animated series looks like it leapt from the comic book, that’s no coincidence since Invincible artist Cory Walker is the lead character designer on the show.

Invincible arrives on Amazon Prime Video on March 26, 2021.

INVINCIBLE is an Amazon Original series based on the groundbreaking comic book from Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead. The story revolves around 17-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), who’s just like every other guy his age — except his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons). In this extended first clip, Mark chats with his father about his developing powers. Coming only to Prime Video on March 26.
