Snake Eyes! Storm Shadow! Scarlett! Baroness! G.I. Joe classic characters jump back on the big screen in the latest installment of the Joe cinematic universe in Snake Eyes. This new film explores the origins of the titular character before he put on his iconic black mask and joined the side of the Joes. Snake Eyes puts Crazy Rich Asians’ heartthrob Henry Golding as a loner who is welcomed into the illustrious Arashikage clan after saving the life of the clan’s heir apparent, Tommy (Andrew Koji).

The film is action-packed, delivering exciting fight sequences from skilled martial artists. Golding previously praised Kenji Tanigaki for his fight coordination, and it pays off in the final product.

The story also elaborates on the origin of the character, his family, and his connection to the Arashikage and Tommy aka Storm Shadow. We spoke with Golding, Koji, and Haruka Abe, who plays the original character, Akiko, about their fighting sequences as well as their journeys through the film and as members of the Arashikage.
