We are officially on the Wonder Woman 1984 release countdown, the highly anticipated follow-up to the 2017 debut Wonder Woman feature. Once again directed by Patty Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, WW84 takes our young Diana’s (Lilly Aspell) lessons about the truth that she carries with her all the way to 1984.

Diana is now a Senior Anthropologist at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. Her new colleague Barbara Minerva (Kristen Wiig) is tasked with a peculiar new project that she needs Diana’s assistance with and the journey unfolds. This time around, WW84 expands Diana/Wonder Woman’s growth and humanity onscreen.

You’ll remember that Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), World War I pilot and Diana’s love is back from the dead, and while I won’t spoil how he is back, I can say it is a very creative and unusual way. So until you get the answers you so desperately seek, watch The Beat’s chat with Chris Pine below about his triumphant return, what he and Diana teach each other what that means, and if he believes the villains aka Max Lord (Pedro Pascal) & Cheetah’s actions are redeemable.

Wonder Woman 1984 hits select theaters and HBO Max on Christmas Day, December 25th at 9am PT/12pm ET!
