Joe Hill Presents: Hill House Comics is returning this autumn with a sequel to Basketful of Heads… and this time, the axe-related decapitations are occurring in such a large number that we’re going to need a little more storage space! You’ll see what I mean on October 19th, 2021 when Refrigerator Full of Heads #1 by Rio Youers (Sleeping Beauties) and Tom Fowler (Books of Magic) arrives.

No word on the rest of the creative team from the EW article that announced the series.

Basketful of Heads

The original series, Basketful of Heads by Hill, Leomacs, Riccardo La Bella, Dave Stewart, and Deron Bennett, was released in 2019. Along with books like Plunge and The Low, Low Woods, it was one of the titles in the Joe Hill Presents: Hill House Comics line from DC’s Black Label.

The story followed June Branch as she encountered an ancient relic from Norse mythology during a hellish summer on Brody Island. Combing slasher-movie action with surreal supernatural circumstances, the six issue series was a gory blast.

Refrigerator Full of Heads

According to the article on EW, Refrigerator Full of Heads will see a couple vacationing on Brody Island encounter the ancient artifact. Along with a new sheriff and a shark offshore – not to mention the comparison Hill made between this story and Sam Raimi – this is sure to be one series you want to add to your pull list.

EW also posted an image of the first cover for Refrigerator Full of Heads, by Sam Wolfe Connelly.

Arriving October 19th

Will you be picking up a copy of Refrigerator Full of Heads #1 when it arrives at your local comic shop on October 19th? Are you as hopeful as we are that this means there are other titles from Hill House on the way? Let us know what you’re thinking in the comment section, or over on social media @comicsbeat!
