Heavy Metal has been making many multimedia moves in recent months, including podcasting. In partnership with DIGA Sounds, they’ve just announced Geoff Boucher’s Mindspace, a flagship all-things-pop-culture podcast with veteran journalist Geoff Boucher.

This unscripted podcast joins a scripted sci-fi, horror and fantasy podcast, WonderWerk, in this new podcast division. DIGA Sounds is the podcasting division of DIGA Studios.

Mindspace will feature Geoff Boucher in conversation with celebrities and creators — the first two episodes, with Malcolm MacDowell on A Clockwork Orange and writer/producer Marc Guggenheim can be found here. New episodes drop on Tuesdays.

Boucher is probably best known for his years at Hero Complex, an awesome blog about comics and media, but he’s won awards for his writing everywhere from the LA Times to EW and interviews with Bruce Springsteen, Mel Gibson, Clint Eastwood, Beyonce,  Christopher Nolan, and everyone else.

“In terms of integrity, quality and authenticity, Geoff Boucher is absolutely in a league of his own,” said Heavy Metal CEO Matthew Medney in a statement. “He has elevated pop culture journalism to an art form, mostly because he is a genuine fan and a fantastic writer, and his plans for Mindspace take all of that to another level.”

Tommy Coriale, Head of DIGA Studios continued, “Mindspace is another great collaboration coming from our partnership with Heavy Metal, and we’re so proud to be working with Geoff. Time and again we found ourselves pulled into the rabbit hole with Geoff as he took his guests to new places, and we had to shake ourselves out of it to get back to production. Audiences are going to love this new podcast.”

While we’re talking Heavy Metal, they also announced a few new hires. Boucher has been hired as Editor at Large and will contribute essays and interviews to Heavy Metal magazine.
