Adult Swim‘s Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law is spinning off into a new series: Birdgirl. Paget Brewster (Criminal Minds, Community) returns to her role as the titular character. Superhero by night and CEO by day, the show follows Judy Ken Sebben juggling life as Birdgirl.

Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law launched as one of Adult Swim’s first original cartoons, back in 2001. The 39 episode series is a comedy that takes place around Sebben & Sebben law firm, a business that prides itself on employing superheroes and Hanna-Barbera characters like Birdman himself. From the sounds of things, Birdgirl will follow in the footsteps of her predecessor.
Per Variety, “In the new series, after being named CEO of the world’s largest and most non-sensical corporation, Sebben & Sebben, Judy Ken Sebben (aka Birdgirl) has to find a way to maintain her work/superhero life balance. Through the halls of the company headquarters she assembles her Birdteam. By day, they try to drag the company into this century. By mid-afternoon, they usually have to break a lot of things to stop something bad that one of them may have helped cause.”
Birdgirl is created and executive produced by ME Productions, animated by Awesome Inc., directed by Rich Ferguson-Hull and produced by Susan Shipsky.
