The Valiant Universe seems like an aspirational place but they seem to have a lot of wars! Their latest event comics is HARBINGER WARS 2 which will lead to a larger 2018 crossover that might have even more war.
HARBINGER WARS 2 has been touted as “Valiant’s biggest, most ambitious and most impactful comic book event to date,” and sure enough, it will change the entire Valiant Universe! War is revamp. Valiant rolled out some details on HW2 including the writing team: Matt Kindt (X-O MANOWAR, Mind MGMT) and Eric Heisserer who was nominated for an Oscar for his screenplay for Arrival, and also wrote the upcoming SECRET WEAPONS for Valiant. The art team includes Tomas Giorello (X-O MANOWAR) and Raul Allen (SECRET WEAPONS). Kindt and Giorello will reunite after a successful tour of city on X-O Manowar earlier this year.
As with some other war events, HW2 will see battles between may Valiant heroes, as seen in the teasers below. I hope no one gets hurt.
If you can’t wait to read this…well tap the brakes. The event will gradually ramp up throughout 2017 but doesn’t formally kick off until May 2018. This is around the same time as a Bloodshot movie is supposed to appear. This film, the first feature film based on Valiant characters, is written by Heisserer and directed by Dave Wilson for Sony Pictures. An d THIs is only the start of a five picture deal for Valiant at Sony.
