Following the allegation of sexual misconduct by Neil Gaiman, the Kickstarter page for the Good Omens graphic novel has announced he will no longer receive any proceeds from the adaptation of the 1990 book he wrote with the late Terry Pratchett. In an update, Pratchett’s estate announces it was “agreed that [he] will not receive any proceeds from the graphic novel Kickstarter. Given the project management, production and all communication has always been under the jurisdiction of the Estate on behalf of Good Omens at large, this will not fundamentally change the project itself, however we can confirm the Kickstarter and PledgeManager will now fully be an entity run by, and financially connected to, the Terry Pratchett Estate only.”

However, dismayed fans who still want to cancel their order of the book (created by Colleen Doran), will be able to do so until Friday, February 7. The update notes “we had locked refunds of the Good Omens graphic novel in mid-November due to where we were in the production process, however will no longer maintain this freeze in light of new articles and allegations. While we cannot speak further on the subject at present, we have chosen to reopen a short refund window for those who would no longer like to support the graphic novel, until Friday 7th February 2025. Please contact us via email [at kickstarter[at]terrypratchett.com] or Kickstarter message.” For more details, head to the link.

The announcement continues a series of consequences for Gaiman following the allegations, which escalated when New York magazine published a thorough report on the matter earlier this month; Dark Horse Comics announced they were taking them seriously, and severed ties with him, cancelling an in-progress adaptation of Anansi Boys, as well as the planned hardcover of the series. Beforehand, Gaiman and Prime Video had reached a similar agreement over the Good Omens show, leading him to step away as showrunner of the third season, which will now transpire as a 90 min. special without his involvement. Gaiman has acknowledged missteps in his relationships, but denies committing any sexual abuse.

After being delayed from last summer, Good Omens: The Official (and Ineffable) Graphic Novel is now set to be released sometime this spring. The Pratchett Estate concludes their message saying, “Good Omens in all its forms is very special to us, and we know that for many fans the landscape has shifted. We appreciate the sensitivity of this issue, and will be working through all queries in the coming weeks. We will continue on our journey with Crowley and Aziraphale, and all of our surrounding plans, in some form. Thank you for being part of the journey with us.”
