Dark Horse Comics has announced the latest addition to their line of video game art books. The Art of Gears 5 will feature behind-the-scenes artwork from the development of the latest Gears of War sequel. The book is being produced on partnership with game developers The Coalition.
Released in 2006, the original Gears of War game won numerous awards, and has spawned six sequels, with Gears 5 being the latest, as well as a pair of spin-offs. The third-person shooter franchise was also adapted into a 24-issue comic series published by Wildstorm from 2008 until 2012. The series was written by Joshua Ortega, and featured art by, among others, Liam Sharp and Simon Bisley.
Check out the cover art for the new art book, as well as the full press release from Dark Horse, below. The Art of Gears 5 is due in stores some time in 2019.
