The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences announced the winners of the 23rd annual Webby Awards on Thursday, ahead of the May 13 awards ceremony hosted in New York City by Jenny Slate. The Webby Awards honor “excellence on the internet.” Among the winners of interest are several games, some websites, a Deadpool fan work and the Marvel Unlimited subscription service.

In addition to taking home the Webby People’s Voice award for best entertainment website, Marvel also took home the best Apps, Mobile and Voice: Entertainment award for Marvel Unlimited. Meanwhile, DC Comics’ social media team was the unanimous winner for digital media management in the Social: Entertainment category.
The Star Wars Show nabbed two awards: for best Video: Variety and for best Social: Television & Film. Meanwhile, StarWars.com was the People’s Voice choice for best Website: Movie & Film.
Deadpool the Musical 2 (a parody) was the Webby Award winner for best writing (viewer discretion advised).


Lego received a Webby People’s Voice award for The Gauntlet.

Among other winners were Patreon and Tumblr for Website: Community, HBO and Hulu for media streaming, Critical Role for the Video: Games category, Fortnite for best multiplayer/competitive game, The Walking Dead: Our World for best use of augmented reality in a game and Astroneer for best adventure game.
