Yet another ex-DC staffer is branching out with their own new company: Fletcher Chu-Fong has just announced Fletch Forward Event Solutions, a new company that will partner with publishers and entertainment companies to both provide events strategy and execute appearances at comic book conventions and industry trade shows.

Chu-Fong was formerly Executive Director of Events at DC, where he earned a level of respect in the industry rarely seen for his seamless handling of events and convention booths large and small. He’s widely known as one of the friendliest faces on the con floor — and congratulations have been flooding in from every segment of the industry on his new venture.

“Every event is different,” said Chu-Fong. “Fletch Forward will collaborate with companies to create an event experience unique to each company’s needs. We provide every level of event planning and strategy, for in-person, virtual, and hybrid event experiences, from soup to nuts.”

This new venture was already on display at NYCC where he kept the very busy ComiXology booth running smoothly — we even caught him in action (with artist Kevin Maguire looking on.)

As live events ramp up again once more, Fletch Forward will offer needed services, including securing convention sponsorships, creating panel programming, executing booth set-ups, from artist alley to a full scale experiential booth, and more.

“I love events and know that conventions can be difficult with much to juggle and keep track of when it comes to strategizing, planning and managing,” said Chu-Fong in a statement. “This past year has been a tremendous challenge for the events industry but I strongly believe that conventions will come roaring back, stronger and better than before. Now is the time to start planning for that return and your events strategy moving forward.”

Chu-Fong’s stature in the industry is displayed by the impressive testimonials on his website – everyone from current DC publisher Jim Lee, to former execs Dan DiDio, Diane Nelson and Geoff Johns, and even SDCC director Fae Desmond, and ECCC and Lightbox Founder Jim Demonakos.

You can learn more about Fletch Forward — and even peruse some booth layout diagrams that Torsten Adair is already perusing closely — on the website. And The Beat will have more from Fletch in the coming days.
