The L.A. Times Book Prize finalists have just been announced, and as is tradition, five graphic novels were nominated

Aisha Franz, Shit is Real, Drawn and Quarterly
Jérôme Ruillier, The Strange, Drawn and Quarterly
Tillie Walden, On A Sunbeam, First Second
In addition, Jarret Krosoczka’s graphic novel “Hey, Kiddo!” was nominated in the Young Adult Literature category.
The LA Times Book Prize is one of the most prestigious awards for graphic novels in the US and has a history of rewarding adventurous work. Last years winner was Leslie Stein’s Present.
The winners will be announced April 12th at the LA Times Festival of Books.

The Pervert is pure trash. Subject matter and creators aside, it’s just plain awful.
