What is Mr. Sinister up to in Fallen Angels? Marvel Comics released a teaser for the new series on Wednesday, showing Kwannon standing behind the villain while he manipulates a misty strand of DNA. We know that Betsy Braddock is no longer occupying Kwannon’s body and has taken up the mantle of Captain Britain in Excalibur, but what are the implications of the body-snatching for Kwannon herself?

So far, Jonathan Hickman‘s X-Men relaunch has redefined the revolving door of death and introduced the Five, a group of young mutants who can reincarnate any of their dead. Once their bodies or “husks” are in Krakoa, Charles Xavier can upload a version of their consciousness using Cerebro. So, while it follows that Kwannon is back in her own body with her own mind, what doesn’t follow is why she’s (ostensibly) asking Sinister for “a favor” involving DNA. Are she and Betsy still somehow intertwined? Is there something even worse afoot?

“A favor to ask…” certainly feels ominous, especially given the colors in this teaser image. It’s possible that issues released between now and the Fallen Angels #1 debut on Nov. 13 will clarify things, but we aren’t holding our breath.

Fallen Angels is written by Bryan Hill, illustrated by Szymon Kudranski, and colored by Frank D’Armata. Check out the teaser below and let us know in the comments what your predictions are for this scene, or the series as a whole.
