Brian Azzarello and Maria Llovet‘s erotic thriller, Faithless, was a big hit for BOOM! Studios when it debuted last year, with multiple issues of the six-issue series having sold out and the debut issue having gone back for a second printing. Faithless II, the follow-up miniseries, is set to debut next month, and now BOOM! has announced Faithless III, a six-issue series that will conclude the story, set to debut in 2021.
Faithless follows Faith, a young woman with burgeoning magical powers, as she contends with dark forces — including The Devil himself — and enters into a dangerous triangle of love and lust, with control over the guiding powers of the world at stake.
In a statement, Azzarello and Llovet expressed their excitement at expanding the world of Faithless into a trilogy:
“There had to be three… It’s a magic number.” said Azzarello.
“Working on this series with Brian has been awesome, an absolute pleasure from the start. Can’t wait for the readers to find out more about what’s coming next in FAITHLESS!” said Llovet.
A collected edition of the first six-issue Faithless miniseries was released back in December, and Faithless II #1 is scheduled for release on April 22nd. You can check out a preview of the forthcoming issue here. Look for Faithless III, the conclusion of the trilogy, to hit stores in 2021.
