Tiny Onion continues to make personnel moves. They have just hired Ramiro Portnoy as Narrative Manager for their Narrative department. Meanwhile Greg Lockard has been promoted to to Senior Talent Development Manager and Steve Foxe to Senior Story Editor.
Tiny Onion is the production house founded by James Tynion IV, and it has been busy working on projects with BOOM! Studios, Dark Horse Comics, DSTLRY, and Image Comics, setting up as a general production hub, adding resources for creators, and launching BEC, a Brooklyn based indie comics show.
Portnoy was previously at BOOM! Studios for seven years, working on projects including James Tynion and Werther Dell’Edera’s global bestseller Something is Killing the Children and the rest of the Slaughterverse titles; Keanu Reeves’ hit series BRZRKR; and Ram V and Filipe Andrade’s Harvey Award-winning The Many Deaths of Laila Starr. Portnoy was also a Publishers Weekly Star Watch Honoree in 2024.
As Narrative Manager, Portnoy will coordinate inter-departmentally to ensure that the company’s publishing interests and operations are running smoothly and cohesively. He will also undertake creative project management on a variety of titles across the publishing slate, including continued support on Something is Killing the Children.

Greg Lockard, previously Talent Manager, has been promoted to Senior Talent Development Manager. Since 2024, Lockard has worked on Tiny Onion’s Artists in Residence program and international convention presence. Moving forward, Lockard will continue to act as Tiny Onion’s ambassador with creators, while also ideating new initiatives to discover and give a platform to emerging talent.

Steve Foxe, previously Editor, has been promoted to Senior Story Editor, having worked on successful launches including Exquisite Corpses and Odin. In his new expanded role, Foxe will help Tiny Onion increase its publishing output, and develop new projects and activations.
“Not only is Steve a fantastic editor, but he is also a phenomenal writer and overall creative mind,” said Harburn. “I’m thrilled that Tiny Onion will be able to tap into all of Steve’s multi-hyphenate skills in his new role as Senior Story Editor, as he leads the charge on expanding the world of Exquisite Corpses and developing a new slate of top secret projects.”
Tiny Onion seems to grew less tiny by the day: Harburn was recently promoted to Director of Narrative & Editor-in-Chief and Sami DeMonster was recently hired as Community Manager.
