BOOM! has announced the acquisition of the middle-grade original graphic novel adventure, PLACODERP!, by Megan Huang, set to debut in Spring 2027. The story centers on “a scientist’s daughter and a dinosaur named Derp” who “discover that life outside the lab is much more dangerous—but also more fun—than imagined.”
“Ever since I was little, I’ve loved dinosaurs. It’s amazing that these massive and powerful animals existed at any point,” said Huang. “To get to create a story about them is such a treat and thrills that 4-year-old who secretly watched Jurassic Park at the neighbor’s house way back when.”
