Next week sees the release of the highly anticipated Superman #19. With last month’s issue, Brian Michael Bendis and Ivan Reis dropped one of the biggest possible bombshells the DC Universe could bear witness to, the reveal of Superman’s secret identity in major public press conference!
It was a beautifully constructed issue, as Cori reviewed so eloquently here at The Beat, and an enticing beginning for “Truth”. But now that the world knows Clark Kent and Superman are one and the same, you just know some major ramifications are coming – not only from the villains who have battled with Superman over the years (Lex is already percolating on it, per the closing pages of last issue) but also his friends and allies, surely. As you can see in the below exclusive preview of next week’s Superman #19 – Perry White already has some thoughts for how this might benefit the Daily Planet.
Oh, Perry!
Check out the exclusive preview for next week’s issue below (on sale on Wednesday, January 22nd), and while you’re at it, drop by and read Zack’s glowing review of this week’s Legion of Super-Heroes #3, the other crown jewel in Bendis’ crown at DC right now.
One day later! What happens the day after Superman reveals his secret identity to the world? And what repercussions will his decision have across the entire DC Universe? Plus, Superman: president of Earth?
See you next week!
Love this follow up to the identity news in Perry’s office. THIS is the Daily Planet character beats I’ve missed.
