Abrams ComicArts’ manga imprint Kana continues to make waves in the industry with its release of the English version of Silence.

Yoann Vornière debuted with this post-apocalyptic manga and was originally published in France but English readers will now be able to fully experience the true terror and fascination of Vornière’s imagined world. Silence is set in a world where monsters roam, leaving the humans terrified and relying on sign language to communicate with each other. Silence currently has four volumes out so far.

In Silence, for decades, Saber and his village have been cut off from the rest of the world, relying on the use of sign language to communicate with each other in order to avoid the monsters’ notice. However, the arrival of a young woman named Lune changes things for Saber and his people as her plan may give them the means to defend themselves. To fight monsters…one must become monsters themselves. Saber and his people must now embark on a new and dangerous journey where they must leave their lives behind in their village and head into the mountains to look for other surviving humans.

The first volume of Silence releases in bookstores on January 14 and in comic shops a day later. The manga is priced at $12.99 and contains 208 black and white pages.
