The Martians have invaded and are preparing to melt human flesh in Dynamite Comics’ adaptation of the popular card-game-turned-cult-movie Mars Attacks! The 132-page trade paperback hitting on Wednesday July 24 collects the first story arc by writer Kyle Starks (Rick and Morty, Rock Candy Mountain) and artist Chris Schweizer (The Creeps, Unbeatable Squirrel Girl). The book also features a cover by Schweizer displaying a close up shot of one of the big-eyed aliens.
In this story line, Spencer, who has lazily moved through life, has never really completed anything. When he visits his dad to borrow some cash, he is unexpectedly faced with surviving a global invasion. With his dad in tow, they are on the run, dodging space rays and avoiding a face-melting as the destructive Martians attempt to zap every human who crosses their path.
