If you know anything about Elvira, you know she always goes out with a bang. Dynamite Comics promises fans of the horror host that Elvira: Mistress of the Dark #12 will not disappoint. The final issue of the series wraps up Elvira’s witch cult problem and brings back a villain from her past. Read the official synopsis from the publisher:

The Witch Cult Saga concludes, and a surprise villain returns from Elvira’s past! (At least… it’s a surprise if you don’t look at John Royle’s variant cover…) The Mistress of the Dark can deliver you a climax like no other, and here it comes, in the twelfth and final issue of Elvira’s ribald romp, brought to you with joy, laughter and terrible puns.

Writer David Avallone (Bettie Page) and artist Dave Acosta (Twelve Devils Dancing) wrap up their tale with letterer Taylor Esposito of Ghost Glyph Studios (Batman, Aquaman, Bettie Page). Covers include entries by Tom Mandrake, Craig Cermak, and John Royle. Look for virgin and black and white variants as well as a photo cover of Elvira herself, Cassandra Peterson.

Elvira: Mistress of the Dark #12 will hit comic shops on Wednesday February 19. Head to Dynamite’s website to order online. For digital, stop by Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, ComicsPlus, and more.

Ahead of the issue’s release, The Beat received an exclusive and extended preview. Check out some covers and a few pages here.

  1. It’s a shame that Dynamite is probably best known from their insane number of alternate covers because they’re really been producing some good-to-great stuff. This Elvira book has been a heck of a lot better than you would expect.

  2. Elvira is one of the best books going! I hope it continues. I know this is the last issue for this current run. It’s just so well written, so funny, and the art is absolutely amazing. Dynamite would be crazy to give it up.
