Neon Ichiban announced today that Abrams ComicsArts will be joining the platform, offering titles such as John Byrne’s X-Men: Elsewhen, Alex Ross’ Marvel Dimensions, and Naoki Urasawa and Takashi Nagasaki’s Billy Bat. Shortly after the release of the Neon Ichiban 3.0 update, the platform has announced a new partnership with graphic novel publisher Abrams ComicsArts to make titles available for purchase, including the upcoming Dune: Messiah graphic novel. This partnership will also include titles from the French comics and manga imprint, Kana.

Neon Ichiban is one of the platforms vying for the throne left by Comixology in the digital comics marketplace, offering fans a unique digital remarques and signatures system, resellable digital comics, and the ability to import DRM-free comics from other sources.

Joseph Montagne, VP and Publisher of Abrams ComicArts, had this to say about the partnership: “A reader might come to Neon Ichiban for John Byrne’s X-Men and discover Derf Backderf, Nate Powell, or a manga series from Kana. We want to encourage that curiosity. Bringing our backlist and new releases to the platform gives readers more ways to follow the artists they love and try books they might otherwise have missed.”

Neon Ichiban was founded by former Comixology executives David Steinberger and Chip Mosher. “For more than 15 years, Abrams ComicArts has published graphic novels that show just how far this medium can go,” said Steinberger, CEO & Co-Founder of Neon Ichiban. “Now readers everywhere can discover their acclaimed books in digital form, right alongside the comics and manga they love.”

“Abrams ComicArts champions creators who push the form forward, from acclaimed literary adaptations to bold original graphic novels,” said Mosher, CCO & Co-Founder of Neon Ichiban. “We’re thrilled to give their authors, artists and cartoonists a home where fans can read, collect and connect with their work.”

Abrams ComicsArts joins publishers such as DC, Marvel, IDW, Dynamite, and Udon Entertainment offering same-day-as-print digital releases of upcoming titles and their extensive backlist.
